Are Mondays Killing Your Life-Buzz?

How do you feel about Mondays?

Do you spring out of bed ready to go like a 3 year old looking for marshmallows for breakfast? Or, do you play alarm tag and hit the snooze button an extra 3 times because you just cannot stand the thought of being trapped at your job for the next 8-12 hours?

My status with Mondays: “It’s Complicated”.

I spent a good 28 years dreading Mondays because from the time I started school until I left cubicle-land my “life” had to stop and I had to do what other people wanted me to do until the weekend and then I could do what I “wanted” to do again.

Now, I LOVE Mondays. It is my chance to wake up and ask, “What do I want to make happen this week?”

It is also my chance to see so many of my friends posting on social media that they “have a case of the Mondays”. This breaks my heart a bit because I want my friends to feel happy. I know life is definitely not all sunshine and roses but deep down I want my loved ones to know that they can ride the ups and downs of life with a content heart because each day they are moving closer to making their dreams come true.

I know I can’t change the need for people to go to school and I can’t change the need for people to go to work but what I can change is the expression on people’s face for 30 seconds on a Monday while they are doing what needs to be done at school, at work, or even at home.

This brings me to why I am writing you today. I am relaunching my blog and the way I connect with you.

And like Mondays, it’s a little complicated.

It’s complicated because I kinda hate blogs.

Well, I don’t really hate blogs. I don’t really even like using the word hate. I just severely dislike the fact that I don’t have the time to read the blogs I want to read. I also can’t stand that I don’t have the discipline to implement the awesome lessons that are shared in the blogs I wish I had time to read.

Basically, blogs make me feel bad about myself. Ok, that’s dramatic and makes it seem like I am victim or something. And that is not true at all.

I know it really isn’t the blogs fault. The truth is I have the same about of time as everyone else and they seem to be getting A LOT  done. And, I am disciplined when it comes to doing what I WANT to do.

I confess, there are 2 blogs I consistently read. One is usually only 5 or 6 paragraphs highlighting one biz and life amplifying tip and it is sent sporadically. The other blog is sent like clockwork on Tuesdays and has a video that I can’t resist watching and also gives one major takeaway that I can confidently implement right away.

So, I guess if a blog is short and sweet and it provides value to my life, I LOVE IT.

Do you feel the same way?

Great! How about we figure out a compromise?

I want to stay connected with you and I want to pop a little sunshine into your day every now and then. I know I feel like I don’t have enough time to do everything I want (even though we all have the same 24 hours) so I have a hunch you feel that way too.

So every Monday, I am gonna pop into your inbox to share a little HappyShot with you. It might be a quote, a picture, a “damn I wish I has known that 5 years ago” kind of tip, or just something silly.  My hope is that it will bring a smile to your face and help you set a happy intention for your week. Mondays can sometimes be a drag but they also can bring the feeling of a fresh start. I want to support you on your journey to creating the life you want and think it will be a blast to kick off each week with a little shot of happy.

And oh yeah, there’s a hashtag for that. #happyshot
